Sympathy for Dung Beetles

Sympathy (like crocodile tears) for conservative, libertarian and die-hard GOP blathermouths & editorialists condemned to shoveling the same old same old again and again (no matter how discredited by logic or events) in their never-ending battle to persuade a majority to vote against their own best interests.

Comment---LISTEN TO THEM WHINE. SEN. ORIN LEE HATCH SQUEALS LIKE STUCK PIG OVER THE "UNPICKERING"
Sen Orin L. Hatch of Utah was just on CBS with Bob Shieffer doing the 'dung beetle" work he seems to enjoy so well. Republicans of
all sizes and mental capacities are repeating the same basic lie from blast fax central. That lie is that Republicans never did anything
like the Democrats did to Pickering. Why, you would think the UN-Pickering was such a politically rare event that it might be comparable
to Haley's comet appearances.

Well, maybe; but Pickering did at least get UNPICKERED. Clinton's judicial appointments never even got to a committee hearing because
any single Republican Senator could prevent a hearing. Democrats have at least moved the process from the decision realm of a single most
unqualified Republican Senator to be a hatchet on nominations. Democrat rules don't allow such a black ball, blue pencil secret non-process
to prevent judicial nominies from every even getting into a committee hearing. Had the Republicans played it straight with Clinton appointees,
there would be no vacancy for Pickering to fill. Three of Clinton's appointments to that district never even got a committee hearing.

Listen to the dung beetles working on this issue. The Grand Omission of salient facts is their only argument. The whining about "ideological" testing
is the damnest pot calling the kettle black act seen for many years. The ever-minor Bush practically shed tears of despair for his
ideologically selected and unqualified appointment being attacked on ...why it was just terrible...ideological grounds. There is a very
simple solution to this problem, ever-minor Bush can just stop making nominations of ideological troglodyte right-wingnut hack judges.

Listening to Hatch trying to make excuses for this administration makes one wonder what is wrong the voters in Utah.. He was even
trying to blather his way through a justification of Tom Ridge secrecy on a level with the North Korean "non transparent" or "open" regiime.
Hatch seemed to be denying that Congress even had any budge oversight function. Hatch is partisan political puke.. a sick inane joke in the
Sabbath gasbag circuit.
